How it works

Simple, comfortable, meaningful.

Silver Sips brings older adults together in small, hosted virtual gatherings. Each gathering is designed to be simple to join, comfortable to attend, and focused on meaningful conversation.

The experience

Before, during, and after a gathering.

Silver Sips keeps the path familiar: choose a gathering, register with email, confirm your place, and join when it begins.

1

Choose a gathering

Visitors can browse available gatherings and choose a topic or time that feels right. Seniors may see open gatherings or gatherings shared through their community circle.

2

Register with your email address

Registration is simple and email-based. Members enter an email address so Silver Sips can send confirmation, reminders, and the information needed to join.

3

Confirm your place

Members confirm by email so Silver Sips can keep gatherings welcoming and safe, and make sure each person receives the right joining information.

4

Join the gathering when it begins

The joining information is sent by email. No complicated setup is needed; members can open the email and join at the scheduled time.

5

Enjoy a hosted conversation

A Silver Sips host welcomes people, helps the conversation begin, makes space for everyone, and supports a respectful environment.

6

Manage your registration

Members can cancel if plans change. If they cancel before the gathering begins, the ticket is returned.

For retirement communities

A simple sponsored program for meaningful resident connection.

A partner community can have its own Silver Sips page where residents see gatherings available to them. Community-sponsored gatherings are included through the retirement community and do not require tickets from residents.

Residents also receive monthly tickets they can use to join open community gatherings. Gatherings may connect residents within one community, across several communities, or with the broader Silver Sips community.

Silver Sips handles the details

  • Scheduling and host coordination
  • Hosted resident gatherings
  • Registration, reminders, and joining information
  • Resident support before gatherings begin
  • Open community tickets for partner residents

For individual members

Open community gatherings that anyone can join.

You don't need to live in a participating retirement community to join Silver Sips. Open community gatherings welcome older adults who want to choose a conversation, register with their email address, and join when the gathering begins.

Choose at your own pace

You choose the gatherings that feel right for you. You are welcome to listen first, share when ready, or simply enjoy the conversation.

Get started for free

New individual members receive two tickets to get started. Additional tickets are available for purchase in bundles of 5 or 10 tickets.

Small groups, real conversation

Gatherings are intentionally small so people have room to be heard. Each conversation begins with a topic and grows naturally from there.

Designed around comfort

Every step is designed with older adults' comfort, pace, and preferences in mind, from registration to reminders to the hosted conversation.

Welcoming and thoughtful

Silver Sips hosts are trained to create a welcoming environment, help conversations get started, and make space for everyone to share if they want.
